Stone: Green Aventurine
That was a long time ago. A very young hunter went to the tundra alone for the first time. Suddenly, clouds flew in from the north, and such a storm began that one could not distinguish the sky from the earth. The track is completely covered with snow. It got dark. The young man realized that he could not find his way home and was very frightened. There was nowhere to hide, and he had to freeze to death in the middle of endless snows ... Having experienced real despair, the hunter took out from under the fur parka a guardian stone on a leather cord and squeezed it in his fist. The young man peered into the blizzard in the hope that somewhere a saving light would flash.
And then he remembered the words of his grandfather, who many years ago first took him to the hunt. The grandfather then said: "If trouble happens in the tundra, dig the snow and look for reindeer lichen." As a child, he did not attach importance to those words, but now they could save his life. The young man began frantically to shovel the snow around him, and at the same time warmed up. He worked for a long time, when suddenly from under the snow gently green sprouts appeared at last.
Yagel - reindeer moss, the only food for reindeer throughout the long northern winter. The reindeer smell the reindeer lichen through a huge layer of snow. Now the delicious aroma rose unhindered over the tundra, and the blizzard carried it for many kilometers.
While the hunter was looking for lichen, he, without noticing it, made a refuge for himself - a deep hole in the snow protected from the wind. He made himself comfortable and waited for the storm to subside. The young man again tightly clenched the green pebble in his fist and with all his heart asked the spirits of the North for help.
And suddenly something big approached from the darkness. Deer came to the smell of reindeer! These were deer from his native camp. A warm nose poked the hunter on the cheek - the leader of the herd greeted the man. And most importantly, the deer left a wide trail, along which it was possible to return home. This is how deer moss saved a man. No wonder in the North they say: where there is reindeer lichen, there life will always triumph over death.
